    Hey, theygotaeat, is there an advantage to fishing gnats over using hair jigs? Just curious. I have never seen gnats until you posted some pictures of some you had tied a couple months ago. Do the gnats out-catch hair or plastic jigs? I may try my had at tying one. It will probably look like a joke. LOL. I would think they would be perfect during the spawn when the fish are shallow. Is that a good assumption?

    The real advantage to me is when you are fishing a jig and minnow combo with the gnats there is no weight so it's easier for the minnow to be more active
    Also when spider rigging multiple hooks with minnows if the minnow gets off your hook you still have a lure
