I just pulled all the 6lb test line off my 8 spider rig poles and put on 8lb on them Im tired of the gar breaking my line i know this will not end it all but I just hope it keeps some of it down. And I know there is a BIG 3 LB Crappie in LARTO and im going to make sure he don't break off on the way to the boat Saturday
What test pound you all run and why?

I fish with 8 lb hi vis on the main line and usually with 6 lb hi vis on the leaders.

I use 4 & 6 # Hi-Vis. Fishing lite jigs 1/48 oz. The 4# llets the jig fall faster.
Usually 8 or 10 lb on trolling rods
8 lb on my 14 and 12 foot poles, 6 lb on my 11 and 10 foot poles and ultralite casters and spinning reels. All in a dark green mono. Tried bright and tried braid. Did not care for either. Guess that's why so many line manufacturers are in business.![]()

I have been using P-Line 6# lately and am happy with it. A little off the subject, but I have always had trouble with line twisting up, especially around the sinker. I put a swivel above the sinker and it seems to help. Anyone else done or does this?
I use 8 lb hi vis Wally Marshal. The large spool (1500 yds) is 6 or 7 dollars and I have had good success with it, I started with 6 lb and moved to 8 lb a while back.
I know Mr. Crappie may not win any popularity contests on here..but his 6lb camo line is all I use. Ive never seen a tougher 6lb line. even when giving up and TRYING to break off a jig usually all I do is pull the boat. It is strong stuff.
