    Thumbs up BLACK LAKE 10-19-15

I arrived at the lake before sun-up and since I don't have a spotlight I had to wait a few minutes before idling out to the channel and down to the bridge. The fish didn't start biting until around 7 anyway, but when they did turn on boy howdy did they turn on, at least for me. The Lord blessed me today for sure. I got to see a very beautiful sunrise and caught more fish than I have caught in quite some time.

I caught most of my fish between 7 and 8 and caught them about 5 foot deep in 10 feet of water on one of my hand tied black/chartreuse hair jigs. I couldn't get them to hit the grayghost early. But around 9 they tuned off of the black/chartreuse and wanted something gray. From 9 til 11 I caught them on the grayghost and on a silver head/red chenille/gray hair jig that I tie and call the bleeding minnow. I quit fishing around 11 and just sat on the lake and talked to my brother on the phone and took a few pictures.

I ended the day with 34 crappie and 10 very nice bluegills. I actually have pictures today. I took a gift given to me by a couple in our church for pastor's appreciation month and turned it into a small camera I can just leave in the boat. I know ya'll like pictures, so ENJOY THE PHOTOS.

Yes it was an awesome day and I did have a lot of company. I thought I might need to see if some of those folks needed to get a job or start hunting for a hobby. LOL. The body on the black/chartreuse jig is made with a material called "Supreme Hair." It is made by White River Fly Shop and is sold at BassPro.

Glad you done good Pastor. Taking my son (39 year old) back down this morning. He said he wanted some more of it. Hope we catch a few.

Glad you hit the jackpot Pastor, sounds like a perfect day on the water. The bad thing about a day like that is sometimes it cures the addiction and sometimes it makes it worse.

my addiction symptoms seem to be improved the day of fishing....but the more times I catch one fish, the sooner the symptoms recur......Pastor...WOW....great pics.....great catch...congrats.........
