Default D'Arbonne Pre Scouting before the Gathering

I'm looking to make a trip or 2 up to lake D'Arbonne before the gathering and just a feel for the layout of the lake I would like to make one soon and one closer to the gathering so I can get a since of the cool weather action that we may face in November can anyone give me any advice on a place to stay or fish or places not to stay or not to fish ? I do have a cabin rented for the gathering and it is at the state park. I have not checked there for any openings for my trips as I thought I would check here 1st and see if anyone had any input on this.

i would say where you stay depends on where you plan on spending most of your time scouting. the state park is up the lil d'arbonne creek. so if you wanna stay up there to scout, i would recommend you stay at the state park. if you wanna scout more mid lake, like the area around the hwy 33 bridge, i would stay at that new place on hwy 33 just south of the bridge. i bet someone can chime in here with a name and phone number. or you can pm southern chuter. he can tell ya. and a thought that just hit me is maybe do both. one time stay and scout the upper end of the darbonne bayou and the other time scout the mid lake area. i don't think there is any nice places to rent on the south end of lake. but it wouldn't be that far from the hwy 33 place to stay. man, did this make any sense?? hope this helps.

What are the dates you are coming. We have a Crappie Tournament on October 24.
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

    2nd thread from the top.....quote....

"INFO ABOUT THE ANNUAL D'ARBONNE GATHERING.

last fall I visited with lots of folks about the d'arbonne gathering. and the overwhelming consensus was to have it the same weekend each year. kinda like the toledo gathering. so.......that being said. here is what almost everyone suggested. we will have the darbonne gathering beginning each year on the second friday in november (if 01 november is on a saturday, then it will be the 2nd friday and 3rd saturday. did that make sense at all??) most years this will be very easy to figure out. but this way everyone can plan as far out as needed to get off work, rent a cabin, etc. so starting in 2015, we will get together for our pot luck supper on the second friday of november and fish fry the following night.

I wanted to wait until the toledo gathering was done to even discuss this. and now everyone can plan as far out as they need to. this fall it will be the 13 and 14 november. anyone besides me ready right now?? LOL

thanks and hope everyone is doing well.

    Cyberwolf,

Man welcome to the group! Doc is correct. You should contact Kendall Terral at D'Arbonne Pointe! This is the new cabin/RV location on the lake and a good friend of mine. Give him a call to check reservations though because it books up fast. You owe it to yourself to stay here, I have a few times and it is so worth it! Google D'Arbonne Pointe and check it out or just give them a call.

Kendal Terral: 1-318-245-9880, tell him Brandon sent ya!
