Thread: Looking for Some Input

I got a hold of this double washboard sink and I'm wanting to use it for a fish cleaning table I live in the country and can run the run off water under ground to the woods so should i USE 3 inch or 4 inch pipe also should i use the preferred pipe once its under ground that way some of the water will seep out on its way to the woods

also any input on the base for the sink would be great im thinking about using a old 4 x 6 i have for the legs and making it only as big as the sink because the wash boards on each side are big enough to use for cleaning fish

I would use solid pipe either 2 or 3 inch would work. If possible can you bury a plastic drum for the line to empty into. There will be a lot of scales and they will clog up a perforated pipe. The drum will catch the scales and the overflow can run into the woods. You will also want to top it with a board or some sort to filet the fish on to keep your knife from hitting the porcelain and to keep the fish from slipping around. Good luck. Great ideal with the drum I have one i can use now the only question I have is who can I trade a few fish to that can come did that hole for a 55 gallon drum to be put in

Also should I put a P trap on it to keep the rotten smells from the drum from coming back up the pipe? or will that just cause problems

I used 4" schedule 30 non perforated, I also put a clean-out tee to clean it with a water hose if it plugs up.

​I would use the P-trap.

We had ours in a building on a regular cabinet. You might mount a block valve under it, with a small stub out under the block that you could hook a hose to. That would work to flush the line when you finish, kinda like the last out valve on a camper dump line. You would not need a p-trap, you could just close the valve. Whatever you build to set it on, make sure it is solid. Those sinks are heavy.

You really don't need to bury the drum. Lay it horizontal and below the level of the sink and it will work just fine. Danny has a great idea.
