    Default Mississippi River Lakes

For what ever reason, fishing Mississippi River Lakes has been extremely slow for last two years. But I believe now good fishing is returning.
Caught 60 bream Saturday morning at Yucatan fishing natural floating trash near the bank. Could pick up one or two if I could find clear spot to drop crickets. Water was 34.0 feet at Vicksburg and rising. It will be over the road to the Yucatan landing later this week.
But I will be back. Hope the crappie cooperate next time.

Good catch, I was just telling my wife we should find a good spot to fish on the river.

The oxbows here in Arkansas are void of bream, bass, crappie. The Asian carp have taken them over. Boat camps that were started 80 years ago are packed up and moved away. The lakes are pretty well dead. That's a very nice mess of bream. Fat as mud.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I use to fish the Rock Pile and surrounding lakes north of Lake Providence. The last 4 years the River has not been stable enough to fish it good.Ever since the sheriff started arresting people for fishing out of the banks of the Rock Pile itself, it has become hard to catch the water just right.

Them knuckleheads are nothing but trespassers anyways, its private land up there no matter how bad the locals try to spin it and make you feel sorry for them. Plenty of water to fish elsewhere that is not on private land
