Hit Bistineau again Saturday, Launched at Peggys Island and fished south along the channel, ran down to the Dam and fished the bridge pilings, over and up the east channel, Fished Blue Pond, and back to Peggys Island, Lot of water covered and only managed 2 little crappie and a 4lb blue cat. I was so whooped I ended up letting em go before leaving. Not worth breaking out the fish cleaning stuff.. Wind whipped up so bad in the main lake that I thought I was going to have to name my little boat the Cornelia Marie... But as always I enjoyed my day on the water. Ready for next weekend..

It's funny how these lakes turn on the fishermen. I was hearing good reports from Bistineau just a couple of weeks ago. But, a day on the water is still a good day. Maybe it will turn on for you in a week or so. Who knows?

Sometimes it's just not good catching even if the fishing is good! Also things can change fast like this year, once they finally came into the water they usually hang our flood gates opened 2 days later and the fishing went crap! It's been hot and miss ever since that. So there was at least 2 good days and they were finally in place, but once that water changed they did too! What makes fishing what it is!

I pulled some cranks last weekend in the channel when it was calmer...didnt do much good. And yes catching is nice but theres nothing like being on Bistineau. Such a beautiful lake with the cypress trees and the critters and enjoying the fruits of my labor spent on that little boat/motor. Most of all learning the lake.. thats a looottt of water and trees with so many good spots my little brain is just filling with mental notes and ideas for next time... also where all the stumps are... You just cant beat a day on the water...Oh Ill catch fish eventually....but not if I aint out there...

It definitely helped along with it flooding over a couple months ago.. but theres still signs of a re-emergence before long. Some of the smaller pockets and backwaters are holding some...and thats all it takes... But as for right now the majority of the lake is nice and clear.

Any report is a good report! Thanks for the report even though I don't fish those areas you may have saved someone a trip.
