As soon as church was over today, we ran home, hooked up, and took my daughter fishing again. Couple of weeks ago we went and caught some nice bream, so she was excited to go back and I was too!

Went to Black Bayou and first thing we caught was a moth that wouldn't leave us along. lol She enjoyed him so much, he was named after a few minutes.

After that, she caught something a little bigger, and was super excited!

For a while, she switched back and forth between worms and a small black beetle spin, but wasn't having a lot of luck, while I was in the front of the boat catching them here and there.

Here's one of mine.

She had a nice one that she picked up on the right side of the boat, but was so excited, she picked him out of the water and swung him all the way across to the other side, where he decided to jump off the hook. She was a little disappointed, but we laughed it off.

(Didn't realize I caught this pouty lip until I got home and looked through pictures. Makes me laugh each time I look at it!)

All in all we ended up with about 20 of these pseudo-slab red ears! Caught all of them in about 2 feet of water, right off the bank. Not collected in one spot, but scattered here and there. I keep hoping to get on a bed of these big ones and really make her day! She's a good fishing partner...baiting her own hook and taking off the fish. Even wanted to be the one to throw them in the ice chest. Works for me!!

Had a great time fishing with my little one. Hope to do it again soon and maybe Mama will go with us next time.
