Went to Cow Island Saturday. There were a few boats. It doesn't look like it'll be good this year. Too much grass and no lilies to fish near. What ya'll think?

Will try to make a pass this Saturday. The river gage isnt reporting so howd it look? Last time I went at 13 and some change and had to wiggle over the weir in my loaded down 15' 20hp flat.

No problem gettin in with my 16' mod-V Duracraft. Wasn't much difference between lake and river, just a current going into the lake.

Went Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00, fished bass with my dad. He caught 1 @ 3.5 lbs. wind was really blowing! Guy in there said bass were biting before wind picked up. Tomorrow would be perfect. Grass is bad but it always is. Sacs should get better when water gets a little higher, and then starts to fall out. Easy getting in, struggled getting out. Had to pull 2 guys out. Should be easier as the water rises though. 14' 2" is the height of the weir.

The grass.....is exactly where the fish are! Let the water get over it, and dirty up some, before the sacs turn on!

2 years ago, couldn't get in last year cause the water wasn't high enough, we did good around the lillies. Where are the fish gonna hide this year to get outta the sun with all the clear water? Unless the water can dirty up enough if we get a good enough rise.

2 years ago was some good fishing in there! I think they are there, they will stay under the grass out the sun. I know people with camps that have their boats on the inside year round, and catch in that crystal clear water. Just have to catch it when it gets good I guess.

How high does the river need to be, to get in with a 16ft bass boat?
