Exclamation tchefuncte, and the 4th street launch

Made a trip out this morning for a little fishing and quiet time with my favorite fishing partner (wife). We arrived at 4th street launch to find a crew setting up a movie set. OK! no problem. They had trees and shrubs lined across the road, and a truck blocking 2 of the launches. I was determined to put in so I backed down on side the south launch, which isn't much of a launch. I had to zig zag thru the trees and shrubs to park my vehicle. Once in the boat we ran to my favorite spot for some dock action. After 20 minutes of nothing, moved to spot #2. Nothing there either. Made another move, bam! fish on. Pulled a few smaller sacs off a lay down. Once that slowed I moved down to some docks and bam! Finished the day with 14 sacs, and a gar (wifes only fish of the day) which we tossed back. Made our way back to the launch to find the launch totally blocked off. Had to use the steep launch to the north side of the pavilion. They said they will be there until Friday.

P.S. No pics cause the wife started cleaning fish before I could get a camera.

If you got her to clean the fish then don't complain about the camera. lol. Sounds like y'all had a good day on the river. I've fished out of 4th street twice with JR and really like it. I wish it was closer, I'd make a few trips a year. Glad to see that you caught a nice mess.

I've never encountered anything like that here but if the ramps are public (and paid for with tax money) then how can they block it off? Not trying to be a smart aleck but was wondering....

Thanks for the report. Hope you left me some.

Typically someone with the parish gives the ok for the film crews. There is a gravel launch south of I12 on the east bank.

Glad ya'll caught a few. Ya'll deserved them after going to all of the trouble to just get in the water.
