I've been twice in the kayak since I got the motor thing. Not sure yet if I did the right thing in buying it. I've never even been in a boat with a trolling motor before. Feel like on a trip to the moon. Going to Martin so I won't be distracted by catching fish while I get used to it.

You might need that motor to get away from that 16' gator I saw a couple days ago. Keep an eye over your shoulder. He likes an easy meal . Just kidding.

I have a serious question for someone that fishes Lake Martin. One day about 15 years ago I caught 4 or 5 slabs at Martin away from the bank in the open. At the time I never thought there were suck big sacs in that little lake. On the few trips I fished it again I never caught a sac again. The bad part is I don't live that far away. Either I'm not much of a fisherman or I have a gris gris on me for Martin. Can any regulars share a few tips on fishing the lake; north, south, east, or west end. There is at least 6' of water in the middle. Are most sacs caught in the brush at spawning or can some be caught in the middle? The water is so clear I went the other day on a cloudy day figuring I might find a few. No such luck. Not a bite.
