Fished Caney for about 12 hrs this weekend, Caught about crappie 25 total. Lot of boats Sat. Me and 1 more Sun afternoon. Shiners 40 ft agin. Bass tourney Sat. Lot of boats going nowhere.

Congratulations on the catch and thanks for the report. I talked to a fellow Saturday afternoon while me and my grandchildren were waiting our turn to get my boat out. He told me that he had been catching some crappie at night, but did not offer any advice or tell me whether he was catching them on jigs or shiners. He did say that he had caught 24 Friday night.

Looks like I got date a little wrong. I have camp there and I see several guys lighting up when I head in. Fishing same areas as in daytime. Look to be using shiners.Gonna have to try it. My son-in-law, daughter and grandaughter where at the dam fishing Sat. Bite was slow.
