Went today and prefish for a bass tournament. Found a few fish. Wish I had my Sacalait poles. Found several spots with water temps above 58 degrees. Had 2 spots we fished it was 61.5. It should start anyday. They had a lot of boats on the water.

Hey Ranger - Hope you don't mind me asking but I figured you could help me out with this: Which launch is the bass tournament out of? How many boats do you think will be fishing? How are the lillies at the private landings? Thanks for the report. I thought you were just a sacalait man. Good luck with the bass.

I fish both bass and Sacalait. The tournament is out of basin landing. We take off at 1:30. The public landing was clear yesterday. It all depends on the wind. We usually average about 15 boats. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. All depends on the people catching. At the private landing. The only 2 you can use is basin and megees. Cypress cove is a member only landing now. Going from basin landing to the levee is full of lilly pads. And from the emergcy. Crossing to the levee was full. Had to run the texaco to get any where.
