Swampers,
Last year I was really trying start to get back into sacalait fishing after mostly fishing bass the previous decade. You were very candid to me about where you were catching fish and the techniques you were using. Although, I go to that spot sparingly to this day, and have never really "gotten on em" in there, I really appreciate your honesty, and it helped to give me confidence to make the trip to Henderson often last winter knowing you were catching fish. Bruce (prefers shiners) also showed me a spot or two and i learned some shiner rigging tricks by watching him, without you guys I wouldn't have caught half the fish I caught last year. I really appreciate it! Also when i ran into Sacalait DA on the water a few weeks ago, he and his dad told me about where a lot of deep structure was in the area i was fishing, that I would have never found without them. I completely agree with swampers that particularly when it comes to crappie, you cannot fish them out. I mean for god sakes the limit has been 50 per person forever for a reason. Those little boogers are well adapted to our sluggish waterways and reproduce like rabbits. I'm always as honest as i can be on the water, unless i'm dealing with an obvious jerk in which the standard answer is "got a few" even if I got 25 in the live well.
Thanks to all of you who are honest and generous with the info,
GF
