Need help for crappie Toledo Bend

I'm new area and I have been fishing toledo bend 4 times now and have had no luck. I have been fishing south toledo bend and have tried Jigging stumps, spider rigging various depths, and even tried fishing on brush piles down in areas between
South toledo bend army rec area to the bridge. I'm in the military and just moved down here from Missouri and I am avid slab buster but this fishing down here has got me stumped. Just looking for guidance as to what and where I might have gone wrong. Any information would be much apreciated.

Hi Craig...most of the crappie that are biting are in the 12-15 area near San Miguel. There are tops all over in that area...fishing 16-18 feet deep in 25 feet of water. There are public artificial reefs under the Highway 6 bridge mostly on the Louisiana side. There are also public artificial reefs near North Toledo Bend state park. Google Toledo Bend artificial reefs and you can find gps coordinates. Sometimes jigs...but mostly shiners right now is what I hear. And sometimes they will only bite at midmorning or midafternoon. But they got aplenty.

Thanks for the info spec, is there a baits hop in area to get minnows. I have been getting them from south Bend where I store my boat but if there is closer one by San miguel that would be great but I've never been that far north yet.

Just curious but is spider rigging legal in la, I couldn't find any information on that in fishing regulation book or website. I have spider rigged in Missouri and Illinois, saw something in book that was called bandit rigging but didn't know what that was.

yes it is. you can fish as many poles as you can handle. my boat is rigged up to fish 24 rods at once if there are three of us fishing. knock yourself out. LOL
