    Default D'Arbonne 9-30

Bro and I reriged our poles for Crappie yesterday... This morning I looked out my window at 5:00 and Bros lights were on . When I Scraped my Nails on the side of his Trailer He thought Bigfoot had him. We put the boat in at Jakes and fished the 35 foot water. I caught almost all our fish today on Jigs. Very light colors close to creams with Chartruce tails. Fishing 20 foot was the only depth that the fish were nibbling at. The Bite was so lite that they hardly moved the tip. The First Fish was a suspended 3 lb Catfish. I alternated with a Crappie then Catfish till I Had four of each. I lost four Very good Crappie and returned 6 small Catfish Bro caught 1 ,, 6 inch long Cat and 5 hours later had his second Bite ... We had a Bass Chaser come motoring up slowly then when he got next to us he took off the way they do , Proud of his Rig ... In his Prop wash, He Donated us a 3/4 Pound Crappie that his Prop had hit... Way to Go man... There were not many people on the lake today and most had one or two So things are looking up for the Gathering coming up soon. We caught no Dinks today

Thanks for the report. I've never been on Darbonne and can't wait to try it out. Where is Jakes?

WHEN YOU ARE coming from ruston to Farmerville, you will be on hwy 33. just as you are coming into Farmerville you will go over the lake on the 33 bridge. you are going basically north. justg after you go over the bridge there is a launch on the left hand side of the road. that is jakes. if you google earth it you can see it. if the fish are biting good at all, this launch will be slam full. better get there early. lol

Thanks Doc, The launch site is one of the best on the Lake . The Prop Wash Crappie came about 11 AM . At Daybreak all the Shad was laying in a Band about 18 foot thick on the Bottom. I Keep Telling Bro to Get that High Yellow Line off his reels because its like Fiber Optic Line and His Responce is I cant see the Clear stuff ... He use to have no problem when the small lake he fished was only 8 foot in the deepest place. By the way they were all Black Crappie and had twice as much fat stored than did last year

Can you explain this a lil better. I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're saying here. Are you saying a hi vis line hindered the bite?
