The Ozark is about $50, it has great back bone for good hook sets and no problems lifting big fish
It has the cork handle and reel seat
Great rod as well for the money
Stopped by Academy yesterday and they had a 10 foot Berkeley for $50 that is close to the Ozark, just a little lighter in weight, may have to try it

Whatever you think......I went from a Sam Heaton to a Ozark.....then to the Duck Commander. It definately has a better feel.....to me anyway.

I still like and use my Ozark for jiggling in heavy brush.....its stiffer and has a titanium tip and works good to punch hung jigs loose.

10' Lews Walley Marshel Solo rod is a good one also, my favorite so far. It's sensitive like the B & M ultra lite but has a great backbone. I'm not to fond of the Solo reels though. I have one on it and have a lot of problems with it. Anyone have a different reel they use for the Jig poles?

I have a pro angler 8' with a small bait caster and use it for jigging. Love it. Going to get a 10' too. I to have a hard time paying over $50 for a rod and $50 for a reel. The pro angler was right at $50 it a little over. I would probably shell out $70 for the BnM if it felt right.
