    Default New Ministry; new lakes

Well, I took a church, bought a home on Lake Claiborne, and planned on retiring there. However, the Lord had other plans for me and my wife. God moved me and my wife to Welcome Home Baptist Church, on Hwy 34, near Joyce, LA in June. I am only 16 miles from Caney Lake and plan to fish there some. But, does anyone know if there are other lakes that are close to me that I don't know about. I am not sure but I think Toledo Bend shouldn't be much more than 50 miles; just not sure. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Also, my father passed away just a few days ago and left all of us kids a little money. I am thinking of investing in a new boat since I have not had a "new" boat since 1976. I want to stay with aluminum and want something that will carry about a 75HP. I would also like a boat with the 2 seat option up front since my grandson is getting old enough to go with me. I think it would be nice to have him beside me. I know Lowe makes a boat like that and Bass Pro has one also. Does G3 have one with a similar layout?

I have always valued all of your opinions on this site. Please give me your arguments both for and against any of the models I have mentioned. Or you may know of a boat that I know nothing about. Thanks, in advance, for any advice given.

By the way, I have a 1440 sq ft home with decks, 2 porches (one screened), and boat house on beautiful Lake Claiborne if anyone is interested.

sounds like you have another adventure planned. I admire those that follow the plan of the Lord even when it is not congruent with our plans. hope all works well for ya.

as far as the boats go---I know ranger is now making an aluminum rig. and I hear it definitely has the ranger quality. not sure if it has the hip to hip seating you are looking for, but I would definitely check it out before you pull the trigger on a rig. can't really help ya with the lake situation in joyce. i'm not even sure where that is. but we have some folks that I bet will chime in.

hope all works out for ya. if ya ever need anything just holler.

I looked at a SeaArk the other day that had a HUGE front deck on it, if I were looking for a tin boat I would definetly be looking at one of those.
Sorry to hear of your dad's passing and congrats on the new gig!!

I have a SeaArk and it has way more room up front for two seats than most boats do. Good luck to ya.

The 17 and 18C from Ranger has 3 pedestals up front. Xpress also makes a smooth ridding boat.

Pastor prayes to your family for the loss of your Dad. Well you have a lot of choices.
Saline Lake, (not saline/larto),off hwy 84 toward Clarance.Black Lake@ Campti.
Grand Bayou Reservoir up from Campti.Toledo bend about 75 mi. Saline/Larto 50mi.
Good fishing, an the Lord be with you.

G3 has an eagle pfx 17 I believe that has the three seat holders already in place. I ordereded my bay with three holders in place so you can do it on just about any boat if the deck is large enough. Bill sells an xpress already set up also. He's a member on here big river marine.
