    Default Reel Magic

    Hey, CDC Folks,

Does anyone use this when slip cork fishing? Does it help?

Is it just silicone spray? Will WD 40 do the same?

Yes somewhat.....Reel Magic makes your line slick, it also softens it and helps take out memory....so....yes it will help .....you also have to have enough weight on your line to make a slip cork work properly.....my experience with slip corks is to use the smallest size you can get by with for the bait you are using....when using crickets and worms I use a small inch and a half cigar shaped slip cork...I ad a small 3/0 size split shot to weight it where the cork will stand up after the bait has gone down to set depth. When fishing shiners I use a larger slip cork and a larger split shot.

Just make sure it's the one in Aerosol can. The stuff BPS sells is made by Blakemore too, but it's different with the same name. It sucks, but like the stuff in the aerosol can a lot and have used it for years on my line when still on the reel. Does good for lots of things though.
