Sorry just have not been fishing much lately, but when I have it's been going with a bass fisherman for a little bass fishing. It's also time for spoon fishing where we catch lots of different fish, crappie, Black Bass, Yellow Bass (which BTW eat great), White Bass and even some Gaspergou. Only keep the Yellow Bass and Crappie. The only thing I have heard in the last month or more is 16' to 22' with more 20' to 25' over brush lately.

Went last weekend with a guide and did not do well. 3 of us caught only 20 and they were small. Might have been due to the full moon or a big storm that had blown in during the night. Don't know. About that spoon, while it was kinda slow, the guide pulled out a little heavy spoon and dropped it down and jigged it real hard up and down to see if they would hit it, but didn't catch anthing. he said it generally works well at this time of year. they just weren't biting that day for us. we were fishing around the cypress bend area.

Generally for the good spoon stuff you need like 30' of water on main points and such. Just find a lot of fish in water like that and drop down a jigging spoon. We usually by them pretty cheap at the marina just North of where 87 crosses 21. A few miles mo0re down 87 and it's on the right.

Too hot, back home. Caught 6 nice crappie(1.42 and a 1.36) off a top near the golf course in 24 ft fishing 14 ft. Jigs, blue/white and solid chart. Caught one nice bass and a few small. Some guys said bass was better at night. Only fished about 6 hrs. SO HOT. Also caught a crappie only 1.5 inches long. Smallest I ever saw. Good luck, stay hydrated. Randy , I had some business to tend to while there, only fished a little, just because. Going back for the 4th, hoping to see some fireworks from the lake!!

Took my little buddy up there today and fished from about 4pm till dark (with a 1 hour break at a beach to cool off.. )

When the sun was still high in the sky we were picking em up on weedlines in 18-24 feet of water.. fishing about 10-14 feet down. seemed like anything with some chart on it was producing. After it became "dusk" the fish moved out and we never got back on them.. (figure they went shallower but couldnt find em.

We ended up with about 10 crappie... but i tell you one thing... I will never leave the house without my net again... we lost probably another 10 nice big crappie right at the boat... usually never have that problem.. but the must have been striking short today and only getting lip hooked or something..

Anthony picked up his first "all by himself fish" he chose to long line troll out of the back of the boat while i manned the spider rigs up front. His line wasn't in the water for 5 minutes and he said "hey i got something" sure enough.. up comes a nice 11 inch or so crappie.

the boy's gonna be a natural..

Will post some pics when we clean em up.
