    Default Henderson Bites

Seems every trip to Henderson gives me some whelps on my head, face, and occasionally hands. I never feel the bite, but a few hours off the water and one or more whelps appear. I thought they were from contact with the cypress trees, but yesterday I don't recall touching one. It's only on exposed areas. Anybody else experience Henderson bites?

yes...the bugs have been really bad for me the last few trips.....I used my "Off" bug spray and I think they love it the way they keep coming.....when that ran out, I tried (for the first time) my "Amber Romance" cologne (from Victoria"s Secret) that I learned about from other guys on the forum couple years back.....I think they got it mainly for the knats along the coast.....well guys, that stuff keeps the bugs away and I never smelled so good while out fishing.....and, Didi knew I had it on board, so no explanation needed for the sweet smell when I got home....

I know what you mean about the gnats, but they don't seem to bite. I don't remember yesterday having gnats and the bite on my chin feel like a knot under the skin. It's kind of like a chigger bite. I used to be convinced it was something crawling off those cypress limbs until yesterday.

Man I hate those things. In the South La. marsh where I grew up trawling and wing-netting, we called them No-see-ums. Slather on the Skin-so-soft. They do the same thing to me, leave a small white welt. My brother would only get a small red mark, like a mosquito bite. I guess some of us get a bad reaction to them.
Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.
