I know some kayakers put in at kerns in Henderson. It's right across the levee when you go through the town of Henderson by pats restaurant.

Can someone tell me where to put in at and how to fish Henderson from a Kayak? Or any other little hot spots down the levee I can fish with a yak.

Kerns gives a price break to kayaks, but sometime it's further from where you want to be. McGee's is on down the levee and closer to any Easterly spots you might want to target. I launch my yak there most of the time.
Fishing Henderson from a yak is just like an outboard except you can't cover the territory they do in a day. Planing your trip with an eye to wind speed and direction helps too.
Thanks, I was hoping for an out of the way place away from the motorboats.
I'll give it a try.
What about between I-10 near the Atchafalaya Basin Visitor Center? Could a kayak launch there?
absolutely, public (free) launch
Welcome to the forum crslsu. As far as launching at I-10 goes it's the noise of the trucks that is rough for me. I'm so use to quiet that it makes me a little nuts until I get away from there. The outboard folks are nice for the most part and don't bother me. They even help me tote my boat to the water on occasion.![]()
