    Default Red River

Went to the Red yesterday. Caught the males in 3fow at 2ft deep. Caught the females in 8-12fow fishing 6ft deep. Black/chart, cajun cricket, and orange/grey hair jig.

Congratulations on a nice catch. I have never fished the Red River before. Are those pictures of the river or of back water off of the river?

Yes it's an oxbow off the river. I fish oxbows and behind some rock getties, but never in the river itself. Don't see many crappie fisherman and it's close. Two reasons it's my favorite.

Yes sir, but I also fish it from Coushatta to Boyce. Got a tournament at Coushatta this weekend and I wanted to see where the females would be hanging out, so I would know how to fish this weekend.

Is that a BSCA Tournament on Sat at Red River, Coushatta? If so, what time is weigh in?

Yes. Stop fishing time is 2 with weighin at 3 under the bridge. Have to get in touch with Brandon and pre-register.

Can't fish, Momma's got plans for us that morning but thought the boys and I would come down and watch the weigh in and visit a little.

    Thanks for the info.
