Monday at Larto
Super slow trolling in 20 foot of water can be tough on those Cajun boys with only 10 foot of line on their jig poles, that said I made my way up there yesterday. Like most everybody else, i ended up in the Buzzard Roost area, but got there too late to catch the morning run. Most people I talked to had caught, a few were "working" on their limits. Dark jigs about 14 foot down, super slow trolled seemed to be what worked, and after I put up my shallow water jig pole I caught a few, too. THE ROAD TO YOUNGBLOOD'S LANDING IS REALLY BAD AS OF YESTERDAY. MINE WAS THE ONLY NON-FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK AT THE LANDING. The gravel road between Vick and Larto was graded yesterday and if it does not rain too much, we'll try it again later this week….BC

Bayoucrappie..... Seems like you had a rather slow day, but it was better than mine in the same area. Put in at the public launch on Saline Bayou because my spouse wanted sunshine instead of clouds and rain that we have had lately, and my brother wanted to launch his pontoon boat for the first time this year. Sure glad he was there as he towed us in when my engine failed after 10 minutes running time! Had a complete rebuild on it last September instead of repair job thinking I would be like having a new one to last a long time so $3100 later with all new pistons bored 20 over all new bearings, seals, etc. engine failure!!! Sound like thrown rod so tomorrow back to the shop. When you think it can't get worse.......IT DOES.... I have logged 14.5 hours of run time on the engine and was supposed to run double oil for 10 hours which I did and even ran longer with last half tank to go at double then regular oil, but now back to the shop..............~~<*{{{{<<

FSH4FUN, Sorry to hear about your engine. I had my old 115 evinrude rebuilt `about 7 years ago and it is still holding on. When it was rebuilt, the guy that rebuilt it said it should be good for another 5 years. Any time I get out of it now is just LAGINAPPE (that is cajun talk for 'something extra'). I hope you get your engine problems behind you and get out on the water…..It has been a l-o-n-g winter…BC
