Should I bring some fishing gear. Where should I go that is close? Is there an affordable guide in that area?

There is some good fishing right on the base if you will have access. There is also a lot of fishing water around that area but I'm not acquainted with any guides, but there are a lot of CDC members around there that might have an open seat. When are you coming, someone might chime in.

Pawpaw thanks for the reply. Heading done from the gateway to Kansas City, Peculiar Mo. on Friday. Could fish Saturday or Sunday. I could return the favor at Truman later in the spring if someone is headed this way.

I think I am going to look at renting a boat. My son-in-law tried bank fishing on base and says we need a boat. I think I can rent cheaper than the gas to pull my boat down for just one day of fishing. Any idea of a lake close that rents boats?

I cant think of any that rent but you might check with the base on that one. Good luck.
