    Default D'arbonne Last Night

Hello all... Been lurking around here for a while, so figured I'd join. Grew up fishing for whatever would bite, then got into bass tournaments. After years of tournament fishing, I'm trying to get back to my roots. Started seriously perch jerking last year and love it. Been catching them good around Jake's (18ft in 30 fow) so I figured I'd try it for a while under the 33 bridge last night. Only caught a few. Shiners about 15ft in 20-25 fow. Lots of barfish. Ready for it to warm up!

Welcome, the only time I ever night fished the bone I whacked em, that was in the fall though. I wish the lake commission would keep the lights up better than they are

I know what you mean, there were only two lights on last night. I've done a ton of bass fishing on D'arbonne at night, but only tried the perch a few times. Haven't had much luck, but it's fun anyways. A buddy of mine always talked about catching them at the Highway 2 bridge at night. I always wondered if a fella could catch them around the dock lights when they are up shallower.

Anyone been to Lake Lafourche yet? I drove by it for years going to Boeuf hunting, but fished it for the first time last year. Caught 18 bigguns the one time I went. Ready to try it this year. Talked to a guy last winter who told me about fishing around a culvert near Cat Island when it's cold, but I didn't see it when I went.

Welcome from Winnsboro. Are you referring to Lake Lafourche outside of Hebert? If so I've been fishing it a good bit the last two months but the bite is hit and miss. I'm not sure where cat island is.

That's the place. Cat Island is the store by the lake. I stayed up around it the time I went last year. Thinking seriously about trying it tomorrow afternoon. When I went, I started catching them about 7' then as the day progressed they moved up right on the bank. I guess I should just try out in the middle where it's deeper for now.

Welcome La PJ, glad you joined on up! Them boats were pretty thick out there today. I'm with you on the warming up, I'm sick of cold wet windy fishing days.
