Fished out of Orange Grove yesterday evening for a couple hours and put together a nice little mess for Friday evening's supper! Fish in upper right hand corner of pic had orange flesh when fileted. Never saw this before. A little more than half of this catch was full of eggs. Water temps at surface were 68 degrees. Wish I wouldn't have run out of daylight!........![]()

Hey Coon, great catch. I was out there for a little while but had to came in early. I did manage to finally pull out 8 sacs and a few bass. Supposedly it was to be an afternoon bite according to the solunar calendar. I catch a few of the yellow fleshed sac every year and some have a darker orange flesh, still good to eat. I only saw two boats, one with a man and wife team and they were traveling, one one ranger with two youngster bass fishing.

Good haul. I've haven't seen any orange fleshed ones yet but a couple of mine have had eggs.
Thanks for the replies.........Gene, the launch at Cannons was about half full when I left out, but I only saw one mud boat in the area I fished in the grove......Never heard anyone running around either! Most boats must be running to Lake DeCade and fishing the Lake Penchant area. That's fine by me!.......![]()

Coon Popper LIKED above post
I've caught many like that in Humble in the lake (Des Allemands) and the Hess canals going to Salvador. Clear swamp water and that sweet marsh water. When I was a kid I would bite the end off of a dark blue plastic worm and put it on a "0" sized beetle spin and slow roll it in that clear water....SLIP
Nice catch
