Caught about a dozen sacalait early. Then was a struggle to catch either bass or sacalait. Still a lot of Cold and dirty water. About noon had a canal in mind that might be clean and warmer water and we finally got to that area. Was hoping it would have a few and it turned it to have the mother load. Fished til 130 when had to leave(boo hoo) and in that hour and a half caught close to 50 sacalait. And missed countless number as they seemed to be just trying to move bait off beds Kept about 25 or so more to go with what we had caught earlier and releasing the others. I've had some good days this spring but that was by for the most frenzied action. Sure wish I could have fished the rest of afternoon. It was a reminder during the spawn to just keep moving trying to find that one spot that s on Name: image.jpg

Nice catch SS. Did you continue to fish with the redfin. Years ago I used to fish for the spawning bank fish using a 2" Rapala casting it to the bank and just twitching it. If they wouldn't hit it then a slow stop and go retrieve to the boat. We boated hundreds like that. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Enjoy the time fishing with your Dad. it had always been my hope to retire and fish with my Dad as often as we could. But in Gods plan it was not to be. I still think of the times we fished together when I was younger. Enjoy and get plenty of Pics.
