If I could pull maintenance
If I could pull maintenance on my allergies and sinuses like I did on the boat motor today I'd be in good shape. I damaged my prop a couple of week ago while picking up the boat at the ramp. I think I hit some concrete. Whatever it was it took off about an eight of an inch off the outer edge of prop and folder another eight in on all three lobes. I dropped it at the prop doc on Monday afternoon and he had it ready on Tuesday afternoon. He welded material on the blades and then ground and polished it to look just like new. He did a great job. I figured while putting the prop back on I just as soon change out the water pump impeller and the gear oil. That took about an hour taking my time. I pulled it to the free launch an put it overboard to check it out. Water pump working fine just like before as the old impeller wasn't bad. I warmed it up and ran it down the canal about a mile and turned around. The prop was just right, letting my tack show a little over 5500 and a speed of 32. That's exactly where it was before. Job well done by the prop doc and myself. Now as I said at the beginning if only I could do a job on my allergies. That short boat ride really affected me. I got home and started sneezing and my eyes itching with my sinuses draining. whew, I feel bad again. The boats ready but I'm not.
