Thread: Night fishing?

I bought a led fishing light to try and night fish but haven't used it yet.

I had a friend who night fished a public pier on the Ross Barnett reservoir in Jackson, Miss.......just hung the light low, close to the water and caught plenty crappie.....

I go a few times per year at a local lake. We tie up to trees on the edge of a creek in about 18' of water. Use a lantern hanging over the boat. We catch a few, but never a limit out type thing.

I used to night fish on Caney Lake near the dam this time of year. I had a bright spotlight I could clip to the batteries and attach it to the boat so it would shine straight down. The water is about 30 feet deep, and the fish were suspended at about 28 feet. I did real well a few times but only on shiners. Just be careful not to drain your batteries dead like I did one night.

Skip does a lot of night fishing on Toledo Bend and has some serious lights for it. He'll know.

I have night fished on Toledo Bend on the channel and caught fish real deep and have caught lots of fish.

I have night fished on Turkey Creek and did good also. Totally different from Toledo due to the depth of the water.

I have fished docks at Darbonne and had good and bad nights.

Fished the outside of the lights in about 10 feet of water at Turkey Creek and Darbonne. Toledo you are fishing way down there kinda like Claiborne. Jim

Are there any docks on darbonne that have underwater lights or did you bring your own?
