Gonna try this deep water fishing again. Haven't had much success, but I a new technique I gonna try. I'll be out with the wife and kids. If your out and about and see the tan xpress, stop and say hi. Maybe shoot me some pointers.![]()
Try the cement bridge back in the rice field.
Made my trip. Had an interesting start. I got to 4th street launch and started unhooking the boat when I noticed the lid on my tackle box was WIDE open and all my baits were gone. I had my son (he's 6) put some new baits in the box. Guess he didn't get it closed properly. Anyone find any sacalait jigs hanging around on I-12? Well after digging around a bit I found some baits that I could work with, and off we went. The plan was to practice shooting deeper water docks and maybe catch a few. A few is what we caught. Ended the day with 4 sacs and a bass. Overall, had a great family day on the water, and caught enough to make an over stuffed fish poboy.
That story sounds so familiar.....except it is me that forgets to do stuff in the boat etc......good job on the fish....you made do and salvaged a what could have been a dismal day.......you my friend......can make lemonade........thanks for the inspiration......
sounds like you made due and had a good family day
Sounds like a good day despite the setback. Any family time is great, but family time on the river AND fishing....phenomenal.
Any of the docks you were shooting have tin boats or party barges near?
Hey MS, I do believe they did. Most were on the east side of the river 1/4 mile north of the I-12 bridge. I found a dock that had some floating grass under it. It's where I pulled the 2 biggest sacs.
looks like I'm free to give it another shot tomorrow morning. i'll try to get some pics posted if I catch.
I'd try staying close to those boats
