Default 13 Crappie Where The Wild Things Are

Made a late start due to the cold morning and hit the water at 1:30. Saw 2 bunches of wild hogs and a deer. There was the usual group of close buzzards siting up in the tree tops waiting for me to die.

Then I managed to catch 13 crappie in some wild action. All happening at nearby Palmetto State Park. It's just a tiny place where they don't even have access for power boats. It's designed for us paddlers and the bank fishermen.

I gave the catch to 3 nice bank fishermen who in turn helped me to load my yak. I don't have a good place to clean fish after dark.

Catch was mixed between blue/white and chart/black. I was double rigging.

I was over there last week. Fished by the canoe launch and the next pond to the left - both places were almost covered up with salvinia. Caught one pumpkinseed! Should have gone to the pond by the camping area.
Didn't splash my canoe - walked the banks and came up on two droves of pigs and a big-ass alligator. The pigs spooked - the alligator didn't! I did! No buzzards, but lots of specklebellies flying around. It is a wild place.
    Glad you got a few.
