Called today, I'm offshore, the fish are not doing anything. A few brim and some catfish. It has been a slow year for me. I'm glad hunting season is almost here.

OK, I did not know ya'll were following the Yuc, but glad you are. I went yesterday ( Tuesday, 8/20).
If you know the boatramp, it says it all. The turnaround is still under water. I had to back in the whole way, which wasn't very far.
I went all the way to the shute to the Mississippi on the right end, NADA, nothing but gar.
No white bass schools, NO bass hits at all, and definitely NO CRAPPIE. Caught about 20 gar though on bass and crappie rigs.
It was still a pretty day and had a decent trip...just no catching. Catching is a bonus, the trip is the pleasure.

As good a year as it was last year it's about as bad as I've ever seen it this year. The fish just ain't biting unless you count the gar. Bream ain't even doing enough that I would tell a fellow they were biting. The perch have lock jaw.
and now?

Yucatan has Facebook page now that James updates most days, Said Bream are fair,
Thanks for the update scrapiron, I don't have a facebook but opened a twitter account hoping to find someone that I could find some online fishing reports. Guess I might have to open a facebook just to see these reports. Are there anymore facebook or twitter accounts for our area?

Not as far as I know.
Brim are biting but catching a bunch of little ones. Someone caught a few WP on red worms. Some bass are being caught.
Search the natchezdemocrat.com website for weekly articles by Eddie Roberts. The past month or so he has written some very good articles about Mississippi River Oxbow lakes. I fish Yucatan quite frequently and can tell you that his articles are spot on to what is happening in Yucatan. One cool morning I caught a limit of bass. Two warm morning later I fished hard for three. Crappie have been almost slow all year, but the ones that are caught are fat and healthy. A quote from Eddie's Sunday article says "the fish are there. And don't ever believe they are not there."
