I wished my new poles would float, My older poles are Fiberglass , but they have been Replaced with IM7 Graphite. They are not black like IM6..... and they will take that 10 lb catfish without breaking the floating pole. They have done it while fishing with nightcrawlers in Cypress Knees . the new poles are 11 ft and extremely light but they still won't float
