Yeah, a couple buddies of mine have been filling the ice chest's for 2+ months now. I like the Belle River side (west side) the best but normally the wind dictates where folks fish. Verret is one heck of a catfish fishery. Friends of mine fish pipes (crimped pvc) and load up in May/June. A La. w/f biologist friend of mine said that the cans, Freon bottles, and pipes don't hurt this lake because of the fact that people there leave their "stuff" out there all year and many, many fish spawn after the fishermen have caught enough cats. Man are they sweet...SLIP

The Fish Filet Gloves have steel fibers woven into the material and fins will not penetrate . A fin puncture is painful because the slime is slightly toxic, causing most of the pain. Hand SANITIZER does work to stop the toxicity, Hince the cut stops hurting and it will not get infected. I keep a small bottle in the Tackle Box , and a bigger bottle in the storage box . I just saw at Tractor Supply a card with those small Glass capsules for wasp stings,it also takes the sting out of jelley fish. You never know when someone else will need something like this more than you do, like grandkids!!!!!

I'm not scared of em, but I caught a hard head dorsal fin between a lil lower than my shoulder blades not long ago.
I don't keep em on the water or even look at fillets at grocer anymore.
