    Default Fun morning at darbonne

Took my nephew fishing for wp. He doesn't get to go much so we just made it fun for him. We only caught 7 and of those he only caught one. BUT his was by far the biggest. A point that he made over and over and over. lol. I love to watch these young bucks get turned on to the finer things in life. BTW we brought them straight home and ate them to seal the deal. Conclusion; fishin is good.

Great job on getting him outdoors.

I had a decent day too. Fished from 11a to 4p just down the channel from Jakes. The launch was crowded when I got there. Was even some old man who felt the need to pass me in the launch line....very rude!

Anyway. Ended up with 20 keepers and one 15" slab pictured below. Most of the fish were caught before 1p. The first half of the day they liked me to be on the north bank of the channel and the color preference was purple (with gilitter) and chart. Early afternoon they seemed to move to the middle of the channel. Were caught anywhere from 15-20 foot deep.

On the fence about making the trip tomorrow.

Mr Paul, nice catch. Hard to believe the little woman allows fish cleaning in such a nice kitchen. I bought a 2 x 4 folding table and built a rolling platform to set it on so it would be the perfect height. . Works great and can use it in my shop or outside depending on weather. Cleaned 8 nice bass(over 14 inch) on it yesterday. Caught them in Toledo Bend. Didn't try to catch any crappie. Hopefully I'll be at my camp and meet some of the guy's at the gathering in january and learn a few things. I'm only a few miles from San Miguel. Keep up the good fishing.
