Question Labor Day Weekend Camping again

I'll be headed back up north for a weekend. This time the lot of us are in cabins on Lake Darbonne. Anyone have any suggestions for where I could get into a mess of something in a kayak? I don't have to have a backdown to launch, just need to be able to get down to the water to launch my little plastic missile. If you don't wanna give up your sac...er crappie (that is what y'all call em up there right?) honey hole, I like bass just as much as those lil spotted critters. Anything I need to know about the lake? The slot limit on bass would have been good info ahead of time. I graduated from Tech, but I have not fished that area since then. Anyway, drop me a PM or just post away. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a fun weekend to me. We've done a CDC gathering at D'arbonne the last two Novembers and it's been great fun. We stayed in the cabins at the state park. They are real nice and have nice access to that part of the lake. As for tips or where to fish, you'll have to depend on others as I can't be of any help. Do have a great time and we'll be waiting for a report and pictures.

No slot limit on bass. I normally fish at the other end of the lake but there are a lot of guys that catch fish around the state park both crappie and bass. there is plenty of stumps trees and both shallow and deep water. Havent fished much this year so could tell you where to fish.

A student told me last week that he'd been catching some white perch in the stump field out from the old Folly Beach. If you're coming up Hwy 33 from Ruston, Folly Beach is the first part of the lake you'll see on the left. Once you're going through the lake you can turn left on the old highway and launch off it (the old highway goes out and dead ends at a landing). This might make more sense if you glance at Google Earth.

I'll be sure to let you know PPG win lose or draw.

Hey JR. It's a bunch of my wife's and a few of my college friends. Adam and I were talkin about that gatherin last time but $ was an issue. Maybe this year? Adam? No word on the Perl other than it's all jacked up.

Thanks anyway FF. Least I know they do fish around the park with success.

Have a ball, Brandon! And don't forget the pictures!

That issue will always be there.
But I'll be running back n forth to Oschner in N.O. My mom donated a kidney to my dad last Monday and he'll be staying close over there for the next few weeks.

Adam, That is a gift of Love. You tell your Mom and Dad that we will be praying for a quick and total recovery for both of them. I guess we could offer up a little prayer for the recovery of the Pearl as well.
