Yeah, I heard at work today that the cats turned on big time last weekend. Can't remember the names of the places though cause you damn cajuns keep naming things with names I can't pronounce..lol. Next trip out I will have a trolling motor on the old barge and see if it helps me get into more trouble out there. Now that I got my feet wet and my confidence level back up there with the big head I will get alot better.. I will be on the water Sat, Sun, and Mon. I get a nice long weekend off work for Mardi Gras and plane on getting enough to have a decent fishfry. A few nice cats to go along with 50 or 60 Sacs would be real nice. My girlfriend even cleans my fish for me. Now I do like that about the cajuns down here.. hehehe
I finally made it.. Hunting and fishing whenever I want to now..

Hey Hick, I'm your neighbor only about 6 miles from you in suburban Meaux. I might could help you on the catfish. I'm done with them after 30 years fishing them for a living. I want crappie now but am as green as you are.

Sounds like a plan. Where do you usually fish at for fun. If I had to do it for a living I would starve to death.lol

I am starting from scratch on the crappie. I've tried Lacassine Bayou, Locations East White Lake, Palmetto Island, and today Lake Fausse Point. Have yet to catch the first crappie, but did catch a couple a few goos, perch, and today a little catfish. Paddled 7.4 miles and am pooped.

I have been fishing Lake Martin for several years now with great success for Crappie and Bream.
These were caught last year at Lake Martin. Best catch ever.Name: p1393773713656114.jpg

If you ever offer a how to class on Lake Martin sign me up. That place has only been good to me a couple of times.
