I just got word that the COOP is still on. Bite slowed down on jigs but still good on shiners. Water temp still mid 40's. Stay on the river channel in 28-35 FOW and you should catch.

Rev., I fished the coop the last two days. The best bite is from sunrise until 9:00 AM. After 9, they slow down. Start in 27' water and as the sunlight gets
brighter, ease back into the river channel up to 40'. Smaller the minnow, the better. The key is staying still. Tie off your front and achor the back. Drop your
minnow straight down. If you cast, it will snag on the under brush and will break off. Fish straight down with with as many poles as you can rig and attend.

I went to Saline yesterday and caught/released 51 dragging a black/chartreuse jig down the bank in about 2-3 FOW. There were a lot of people out and most folks were fishing deep. Looked like everyone was catching, but the size is still running small. Of mine, maybe 15 or so would have been good keepers.

Jloftin may have hit upon something as far as staying still. We tended to slowly move around and did hang up a lot. Come to think of it most people were tying off to a stump and dropping anchor on the other end of the boat. I will try this next time as I don't think we did as well as most. And we were using the rosie reds.

Rev, Newll's landing is only a 5 minute boat ride to the coop. Texas side north of Pendelton bridge.
New Era, where did you get the rosie red minnows?
