I have always prefered the tiller. I do a wide range of fishing and it seems more versatile when in tight spots and it responds quick. the stick and console are definitely more comfortable though. I have an 18 ft alweld flat that is wide open with only a front deck and rear bench and the middle is open. Lots of room and fishes 3 easily. I fish in lake ponchartrain and in the pearl with the same boat because of the versatility.

I voted for console steering. The main thing I remember about the stick steering boat (that I owned in the distant past) was if the lake was rough you were fixing to get wet.

I have a an old cajun bass boat with 85hp with console. I like the console because during the summer I can ride the river when it gets to hot to fish. I have over the past year or so gotten tired of getting my big bottom out from behind that steering wheel( the room issue). so again there are good things about both but just need to know what kind of fishing you are going to be doing and what you need 1st.

The boat i used to use came as a stick steer. We took that of and put a tiller on. I liked it much better. Now i upgraded to a console, and find it to be the best.

Does it keep bumping to the "New Posts" list if someone votes but doesn't comment? Both times I checked new posts today, it was on my list. Still shows me as last poster on the New Post list, but with a different time above it.
    Hmm?
Maybe that's how I got confused before (confusing me seems to be an easy task lately)

My 14 ft Boat has stick Stearing, but I voted for console. We use my Brothers boat any time we hang yo-yos or Trot lines or go to the River. Big Boats are heavy but take rougher water easier
