    Default little help here please

I'm heading down to Ky lake May 13th thru the 17th for a little bluegill fishing with my dad. I've been reading the fishing reports about the lake levels yo- yo-ing. Are the gills on the beds yet or are they as confused as I am as to where to go? Can anyone say they've found some beds yet? I'll start looking in the shallows if I can find the shallows after all this rain. Thanks in advance for the info.

Saw several people on Tues. that seemed to be catching them off the beds in large #'s while I was bass fishing.

yeah, I'm sure the weather from the last couple of days will have stirred things up. I talked to a guy today who said the storms really muddied things up and threw a wrench in the spawn. He and everyone he talked to had small numbers. Hopefully these next couple days of nice weather can get things back to normal.

How long does the bluegill run last? My thought it is usually in May but wanted to check.

    Question I always thought ....

... that Bluegill spawned every month, from May til August (at least), around the Full Moon period. As for how long it takes them to spawn and hatch .... that's weather & water temp/level dependant, but usually no longer than a couple of weeks. Hatching of fertilized eggs usually takes around 30hrs, and is temperature regulated/reliant.
