    Default Barkley Lake ?

I was wanting to come down and do some bluegill fishing. I know the water is up. How dirty is it. Can anyone tell me how the gill fishing was this weekend.

I don't know about Barkley either but the water in the mid section of KY Lake is colored anywhere from caramel to creamed coffee.

Barkley is very muddy. Ky. is muddy in the back of the bays . Main lake is stained. Blue gill have come off the beds and holding in 6 to 8 foot of water with the bite being real slow. Water temp is 70 degrees surface. Fished 2 days with a few small gills . Not much going on with the water 3.5 feet over summer pool and rising. Lots of floating logs so be extra careful on the water. Take care !!

Fished Ky Lake Sunday afternoon and caught over 100 gills and half a dozen shellcrackers. Cleaned all the crackers and 44 big bluegill. Caught them on beds fishing about 5 ft fishing Grizzly jigs (cunningham model) tipped with Berkley Power Wigglers. It's all I ever use and the gills and shellcrackers love them. The cunningham grizzly is black with a white head and red collar. The bay where I was fishing near KenLake marina was stained but not terribly muddy.
