    Default Kentucky Lake this weekend


    The wife and I were thinking about making a run down to Kentucky Lake this weekend. We have a 4 1/2 and 9 year old we were hoping to get on some big blue gill and maybe some redear. The moon should be right but I know the weather has been pretty bad and the water is up. Looking for some feedback from the guys down there as to if you think it would be better to wait a little bit or give them a shot this weekend. I have stayed in Jonathan Creek but didn't know if you may have info on a better place that has fairly reasonable lodging and decent fishing and wouldn't require a great deal of running up down the lake with the little guys. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Went yesterday evening. Kept 3 channel cats, 4 blue gill, and 2 good redear. The small bass were biting anything thrown out. The water is up, I think about 362+ today. We caught them in the back about 5' in front of the buckbrush. We were using worm and casting green curly tails. Good luck.
    Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

    Lots of bluegill and redear coming in at the cleaning stations right now. Went bass fishing w/ a friend Tues. and had 70 or 80 w/ 15 over 15", but none over 3 1/2 lbs. Saw lots of people catching gills and redear shallow and get out there as more should be moving in w/ the full moon. I'm taking my wife and daughter gill and cracker fishing this weekend as well.

    Nothing wrong with a day like that. All this rain and rising water has got me second guessing making the trip down this weekend.
