Any good Crappie fishing around Louisville. My son is in the National archery competition (8th grade) and I was thinking about bringing some catching gear if the bite is on and there are any good pay docks or bank fishing opportunities as I don't want to drag my boat that far for only 3 days.

Tom Wallace Lake in Jefferson Memorial Forest here in Louisville. They stock it with rainbow trout in April and a 15 year old kid just caught a 10 1/2 lb largemouth recently. I read an article about him in the paper today. He fished from the shore and was site fishing. He figured it was a 4 or 5 pounder. I personally have been catching some fish at Taylorsville which is 45 minutes from Louisville but I am also in a boat. Some people were bank fishing by the ramp and had caught a few crappie. Good luck.
