Be careful if you're going this weekend, wind forecasts of sustained winds 15+ and gusts to 30mph all the way through Monday. I'm dying to go but looks like atleast Tuesday before I will try it.

Heading down to Barkley today for the next couple days. It's been 4 weeks since I was down last. Struck out on crappie at Demumbers Bay. Small bass were lighting us up though. Still haven't caught a crappie at either lake, but I'm hoping to break through this weekend with the temps moving up.:p
Looking for any tips/help fishing from the canal to Eddy Creek. I will go over to Kentucky Lake if it us a must. I just have to get this monkey off my back due to never catching a crappie before--3 years running.
Thanks in advance fellas,
Josh

From my experience and talking to several others... catching your first crappie may be a tall order right now. They've quit biting for some reason.
Also, as pab said.... be careful. KY got nasty in a hurry yesterday morning when the wind kicked up.
I will be in a deck boat, so I'm going to try to get to Eddy Creek maybe and hug the shoreline out of the wind. I'm calling in sick Monday, so I have to give it a shot. But, any day fishing is better than working. This will probably be my only chance to get out on the crappie before they move deep again. I should be back down towards the end of May.
I was going to take my new little boy fishing for the first time this weekend, but if the winds are as bad as you guys say, I might just leave him with mom. He's only 6 weeks old, but he told me he really wants to go fishing this weekend!
