Now if the wind will ever stop blowing, I think I could get used to this. :D

Congratulations, I can see why you would/could!
get you a windsock and you can control your speed in the wind.
then you will hate it when the wind don't blow.
congrats.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

I've been using a 42" wind sock. The way the wind here has blown, I can't imagine being out there without one. (Well, I suppose I can.. I fought it for years up until I bought this one a few weeks ago. :D)
I run a rope from my seat to the sock. When I find a spot I want to go over again i just pull the rope that deflates the drift sock, and then hit the motor and make a second pass over whatever I want. If you dont pull it all the way in just let loose of rope and back out it goes.
Quack,
Do you have any pics of your spider-rig rod holders? I would like to see them and how you attach it to your boat.

I sure don't. I put them on when I get to the ramp and take them down when I get finished fishing. I don't figure anything good would come from them bouncing around while the boat is being trailered and the one has to come down to clear the trolling motor anyway. I can never think to put them on and snap pictures before I put the cover back on the boat.
If I can think to do it this weekend, I'll snap a pic while we are fishing.
drift sock is definitly a must. Speed is key when spider rigging and with a drift sock you can better control that...I have an 18 foot boat with a real small draft of only a few inches. My sock is a little over kill but i got a 50 inch i beleive.. Spider rigging is a great thing im only in my second full season at it and buffalo 13 there has given me a lot of insight and on water experince i needed. I've found the ebst way to figure it out is to just put your rods in the water and go.
Bounce is the biggest problem to overcome when the wind is blow'n while spider rigg'n. I have an 18' Lowe 180w. Catches a lot of wind. I have several socks for different conditions. If you're try'n to spider rig in pretty good waves my boat bounces & my bait is up & down. I've got where if that is the case I drag a 50" sock on the back & a 24" near the bow on both sides. they really help lessen the bounce of the bow. It also helps if I have another fatboy in the front with me! :D
Tell ya another thing you can do to up your productivity. Delete your track on tour GPS everytime you make a drift. If you make a drift & it is really productive save that track as a route & repeat it a couple of times or untill it quits paying off. I have done this before & limited out in 2 drifts.
