thats a good palce to put your rod holders. I have a triton that is similar to your boat and it to has that accesorie chanel thats where my electronics wires are ran. Putting them there keeps you from drilling holes or having a permanent bracket or plte on all the time. I dont care how old or new a boat is its always painfull for me to start drilling away on it. Makes me nervous! good setup you'll love it
