Thread: Just got back from Alabama

Hey guys just got back from Alabama and had a blast. The weather tried to be difficult but we still caught alot of fish. We stayed at Bay Springs Marina in Centre, Al. I recommend anyone who go's down to stay here. Clean room, nice people, and great set up for fisherman. It's right by the water, convenient location to Wal Mart and local bait shops, freezers to keep fish in, fish cleaning, station and nice ramp. The funny thing is we never fished Weiss the whole time we was down. The first day we hire local guide Alan Mcdowell, which i strongly recommend also. He asked if we cared to fish Neely Henry Lake instead, because the Weiss bite was slow and he had been catching nice fish there. We agreed, I don't care where it's at as long as I catch fish. We longline trolled, which I had never done before, had a blast. We caught over 200 fish in three days, several in the 13 to 15 inch range. My friends who went down the same days and didn't hire a guide averaged 20 keepers a day. Let me tell you fellas a guide is well worth the money. I would enjoy to troll here but don't know if any central kentucky lakes are suited for it. I had lots of questions about trolling before I went but learned everything I needed to know from Alan. If you guys would like to know how we did it or need any information just let me know and i'll be glad to explain it in detail. If anyone trolls any local lakes it would be nice to find out where, I would enjoy to fish that way here sometimes as well.
