    Default T-Ville 7-3

Ok I'll say it--T-ville is starting to get my goat! I have been 4 times in the past two weeks and not one crappie. I've tried casting to blow-downs, bobber watching ,Ky rigs and trolling. Both deep and shallow, trees, flats, and brush piles. (LOL) If it wasn't for the catfish I'd go hungry! Hate to rush Summer along, but Fall Fishing has got to improve the catch rate. Anyone else having a hard time finding fish or have I lost the touch?

buddy I've never fished Taylorsville, but Barren River has been the same with me. Once summer arrives I convert to trolling for hybrids because I just cant seem to catch a crappie out of that lake.

I can still catch a few out of Kentucky Lake this time of year, but have not been able to on Barren.

I recently went on a trip with Brad Whitehead and learned a new technique for trolling that I plan on trying at Barren. You can cover a lot of water this way and eliminate unproductive water. I was surprised as he pointed out that Crappie don't move as far away from their spawning areas as people think. We ended up catching 42 crappie and this was just a couple of weeks ago.

I'll post the results when I get a chance to try em, but plan on waiting till after the 4th traffic clears.

    Downwind,
We've had the same results at T-ville this year as you. Only a few crappie caught each trip. Sorry to hear you're not catching but glad someone else is suffering too:D Going to try it in the morning for a few hours. Wish us luck.

    Take care,
    Greenfish

Went to Smyrna Bait & tackle, he said he caught some hybrids on some live shad. He said they were about 8 feet down, from what he showed me they were decent sized.

    Default T-ville no-go...

My wife woke me up yesterday morning at 2:30 (had barely gone to sleep) having contractions so we had to go the hospital instead of to the lake. Everything is fine and no baby just yet but getting close. I'm not sure how much fishing I'll get in the next few weeks but I don't think I'm missing much. Everyone keep me posted on the catching or lack there of.

    Take care,
    Greenfish

Fishing for crappie for me has stopped until cooler weather and cooler water temps. I might go after a mess or two of catfish during the summer but that'll be about it. The bite aint happening for me right now either.:o

Catfish won't be hard to come by. I made up some jugs and have been picking up cats in the mornings. First time fishing w/ jugs and I sort of like it. Easy on gas too! Not as good as crappie but at least it's a fish fry!

Greenfish- keep us posted on the pending birth. Good wishes to you both!

I went for a couple of hours Friday, didn't get a single bite.
It's the worst I've ever seen, they're probably filling up
    on the sicades-LOL

I did notice lots of new small 1" shad swimming around,
guess there's plenty of food for them right now.
I hope the crappie grow and get real fat:D
