I'll second Rodney. Dad had a place just outside Moor's. Might want to think about the night bite as well:D

I have used Rodney Hairgrove for a few years now. He is one of the best there is and one heck of a nice guy. Give him a call and tell him Steve Dehart recomended him. I have stayed at Big Bear resort many times too. Nice place and convient to fishing. If you don't want right on the lake you could stay at Bel Air motel on hwy 641 just south of the dam a few miles. Not fancy but nice people and nice price.
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.

Any one of the three state parks is a good choice. The food isn't bad, the prices of rooms and cabins are about the same as everywhere else, and you help the state, since these resorts continue to struggle with there budgets. Tey also have pools and marinas on sight.

I would also be looking at the night bite at that time of the year or would get a guide who can maybe put you on some fish.
